Overview
The Washington County, Iowa Land Use and Planning Commission is made up of citizens appointed by the Board of Supervisors to 3-year terms. The majority of the Commissioners reside in the unincorporated areas of the County. The Commission has the responsibility for review and recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for subdivision preliminary plats and for amendments, changes or modifications to the Subdivision Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan.
The Land Use and Planning Commission meets annually to elect its officers and whenever there are applications pending. Please check this page to determine if a meeting will be held or cancelled.
