Duties & Responsibilities
The Commissioner of Elections is responsible for all federal, state, and county elections including city, school, and special elections.
The Auditor's Office receives nomination papers and public measures to be placed on ballots.
The Commissioner prepares and monitors the processing of all the absentee ballots in order to aid voters who are unable to be at the polls on election day.
As custodian of the election, the commissioner certifies the results of the state or local entity involved and issues certificate of election to the proper person.
