Eric worked for the Keokuk County Sheriff's Department from 1996 to until he was hired as a Washington County Deputy in 1999. He has a degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.

Eric enjoys all athletic activities and has been power-lifting competitively for 4 years.
